The Best of Extension in Stark County
As Ohio's largest non-formal educational network, we provide workshops and resources from
The Ohio State University in communities throughout the state. Our work responds to local priorities
while also addressing broader challenges. This is an overview of some of our recent work in Stark County.
Community nutrition programming in Stark County
focuses on providing youth and adults with the
information they need to make healthy food decisions.
In 2025, we provided 3053 workshops and reached
Stark county citizens.
Family Consumer Science (FCS) in Stark County focuses
on research-based information that supports practical
guidance on safer food practices, better nutrition,
stronger finances, and healthier relationships. FCS
focused on meeting residents where they are at, offering
both virtual and in-person learning opportunities.
Agriculture and Natural Resources programming in
Stark County focuses on the needs of our local
farmers and producers. From pasture walks and
pesticide certification trainings and agronomy
school to farm succession planning workshops—we
are here for you.
4-H Youth Development
Stark County 4-H empowers youth with lifelong
leadership and life skills. 4-H inspires curiosity
through fun, hands on learning, Through Stark County
4-H, youth can participate in both local and state
judging.
